Jose Castaneda is an Associate Attorney in the Tyler office of Flowers Davis, where his practice focuses primarily on the Defense of Governmental Entities, Immigration Law, and insurance defense. He has also collaborated closely with TAC legal counsel on civil litigation involving county interests. As a naturalized citizen, Jose’s commitment to Immigration Law is both professional and personal. He previously interned with the Catholic Charities of Dallas in its immigration legal services department, where he worked on VAWA matters, asylum cases, applications for residency, and naturalization filings. In his role as a prosecutor, he also assisted law enforcement agencies by preparing U-visa certifications for victims of qualifying crimes.

Personal Background
Jose has lived primarily in East Texas since 2005 and has spent the bulk of his career serving government and law enforcement entities. He and his wife, Taryn Castaneda, live in his hometown of Athens, Texas, along with their two dogs, Teá and Luigi. Outside of his legal work, Jose enjoys spending time outdoors, watching Formula 1, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, hunting and fishing.
