Lane Brown has over twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, first as a landman and then as an attorney. Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law, he has professional experience in many facets of the industry, including stand-up title opinions, easements, oil and gas leases, condemnations, receivership leases, production sharing agreements, collections, contract negotiations and litigation. Lane has volunteered for pro bono in criminal law and has extensive trial experience.
Lane has worked all over the state of Texas both as a landman and as a lawyer. While he started his career in East Texas in counties such as Rusk, Harrison, and Panola, he also spent two years in West Texas mainly in the counties of Midland, Pecos, Reeves, and Martin. Lane has also worked in Louisiana as a landman.
Lane previously was a partner at Freeman Mills PC and spent some time at Morgan Leeton PC before joining Flowers Davis full time in 2019.
Prior to his career in oil and gas and the law, Lane served our country as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Captain. He served overseas in Ramstein, Germany and also in Washington D.C. While in D.C., Lane was assigned to the Central Intelligence Agency where he provided intelligence updates to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Specifically, he provided intelligence support during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
He now lives in Tyler with his wife and two dogs. Lane is an avid tennis player and enjoys ski trips with his sons.
