about

Daniel C. Ross, Esq., joined Flowers Davis in January 2017, and practices exclusively in Immigration Law with an emphasis on employment/business immigration cases and removal cases. He handles both immigrant and nonimmigrant cases, including, but not limited to: H-1B’s, E-2’s, L-1A/L-1B’s, R-1’s, H-2A’s, P-1’s, EB-2 NIW’s, EB-1 outstanding researchers, EB-1 extraordinary ability individuals, EB-4 religious workers, and EB-3 skilled, unskilled, and professional PERM’s, as well as employer I-9 compliance issues.

He also works on affirmative asylum claims and in the following areas of removal defense: bond redetermination proceedings before Immigration Courts nationwide, defensive asylum claims, applications for cancellation of removal (LPR and non-LPR), adjustment of status while in proceedings, termination of proceedings, requests for humanitarian parole, and applications for voluntary departure. He represents individuals detained by ICE throughout Texas and Louisiana.

He frequently works with criminal defense attorneys to draft plea deals that will avoid adverse immigration consequences for his clients and advises attorneys and clients on the immigration consequences of possible criminal convictions. He works on TPS applications, parole-in-place benefits for military families, U-visas for victims of qualifying crimes, petitions for victims of domestic violence under the Violence Against Women Act, and Cuban Adjustment Act cases.

Daniel was born and raised in Linden, Texas, and attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, on an academic scholarship where he graduated summa cum laude.  He taught English in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico before attending Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, Florida, where he graduated cum laude in 2012.  He is a member of the Florida Bar and American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys being outdoors, fishing, duck hunting, watching all sports (especially the Florida State University Seminoles), volunteering in the community, and spending time with his family.
