Tyler Attorney Robert S. Davis to Address Texas Lawmakers at Annual Conferences

TYLER (July 23, 2015) – Within a five-week period, Tyler Attorney Robert S. Davis will address two groups of Texas lawmakers, lecturing on issues that can often result in litigation, and advising the groups on how to avoid it.

The Texas Sheriffs’ 137th Annual Training Conference and Expo was held this past week, July 18-21, in San Antonio, TX. Davis’ topic of “Bail Bonds: Issues, Liability & Legal Updates” was especially timely because bail bonds are one of the most commons issues confronting Sheriffs in Texas, if not the most common. His presentation addressed common bail bond problems, areas of liability, tips to avoid litigation, and legal updates. A question and answer session followed.

At the upcoming Texas Jail Management Conference, scheduled for August 24-27 in Galveston, Davis will also speak on “Bail Bonds: Issues, Liability & Legal Updates” as well as “Legal Issues with Inmates”. Davis’ second speech will cover the Courts and decisions impacting jails, inmate’s rights and privileges, policies and procedures, strip searches, and other topics. These are the primary areas that result in litigation for jails.

Through the years, Davis has written many papers for and made numerous presentations to entities such as the State Bar of Texas, Texas Sheriff’s Association, Texas Association of Counties, Texas Jail Association, the Jail Management Institute of Sam Houston State University, and Texas Chief Deputies’ Association. He is a partner in Flowers Davis PLLC and oversees the Business and Commercial Litigation, Insurance Defense, Defense of Governmental Entities, Employment Law, and Medical Liability Sections of the firm. Davis has extensive experience in representing governmental entities and government officials in all types of litigation. Flowers Davis PLLC is a full-service multi-disciplinary law firm with principal offices in Tyler, Texas.
